Learn More About The Restorative Treatments We Offer In Our San Francisco Dental Office

When it comes to correcting existing dental damage, you have a number of different treatment options from which to choose. Our San Francisco dentists are here to tell you about the various restorative treatments that we provide here in our office. Let’s get started!

When patients come in with dental cavities, we are usually able to remove the infected material, and then repair the tooth with a natural looking fillings. Our office uses tooth-colored dental crowns to rebuild missing portions of teeth.

If the cavity has really taken ahold of the tooth, and moved into the dental pulp and the tooth root, our team may recommend that you undergo root canal therapy. During the root canal process, our dentist clears away all of the infected dental material, including the tooth root. Then, we sterilize the remaining healthy tooth structure, and fill and restore the tooth. This treatment allows us to save teeth that might otherwise fall out or need to be pulled.

Sometimes patients simply need to repair small cracks or chips in their teeth. If this is the case for you, you may benefit from dental bonding. The bonding process involves our dentist placing custom-shaded dental resin to the patient’s enamel. Once the resin has cured, it is strong and resilient like real enamel. This is a very fast and effective way for dental patients to deal with minor dental damage.

If you have lost a tooth, or multiple teeth, we also provide restorative tooth replacement options that will make your smile whole again. The dental implant is the type of replacement tooth that closely mimics the structure of a natural tooth. What does this mean? Every dental implant as a replacement “tooth root” which is made of titanium. This titanium base extends all the way down into the patient’s jawbone. Our dentist is then able to attach the restoration on top of the implant base.

Once the dental implant is firmly in place, the patient’s natural bone tissue actually starts to bond with the titanium. The dental implant looks, and functions like, a natural tooth; this is a very intuitive restorative option to live with.

Our San Francisco dentists can give you any additional information that you need about all of your dental options—just give us a call!
